Emergency First Aid Training 1 day course

As the Care Manager of 2 residential care homes for people with learning disabilities, it is my responsibility to ensure the staff are trained to deliver high quality care to the people we support.

First Aid training is mandatory within any workplace especially in a care setting, it is important that the course content covers the area’s that we come across on a daily basis.

After many hours of searching the internet and ringing for quotes that never arrived, I came across Purple Cow Training. Almost immediately I knew we could work with them, the staff were friendly and helpful and invited me to look around their excellent training facilities where I was introduced to Phil Berry- First Aid trainer. Phil suggested he visit the workplace to have a discussion with the staff prior to the training to find out which area’s they felt would best support them on a daily basis alongside covering the HSE requirements.

A week later staff attended a one day course. The feedback was 100% positive, staff felt the content was relevant, Phil had vast knowledge on the subject, he answered questions confidently and encouraged everyone to take part in the practical area’s such as CPR, recovery position. One staff member said “ it’s the best first aid course I’ve ever been on, it was bespoke to suit a care environment rather than most of them that show you films of people on building sites and in offices”

You provided many an opportunity for us to ask questions and participate in activities. This is how all courses should be. The real life experiences you brought to the course made it more realistic, and bring home the true importance of being first aid trained, as it could easily be ME that plays a part in saving someone’s life. There’s nothing more precious after all!!
